INSURE-A-KID
Families whose income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level (which is about $38,000 for a family of four) are generally eligible for children's health insurance through Medicaid or CHIP. CHIP coverage costs no more than $18 per month for coverage for all of the children in a family. Co-pays for doctor's visits range from $2 to $10, depending on family income. CHIP coverage also includes some dental benefits.

CHIP coverage is limited to children who are US citizens or legal permanent residents, and who live in Texas.
